Paediatric Dermatology is an area of dermatology where the doctor has an interest in treating conditions of the skin, hair and nails in children. At our clinic, we are fortunate to have both a Dermatologist with an interest in Paediatrics and a Paediatrician with and interest in Dermatology.
We work closely together to form a holistic approach to patient care and we aim to put the children at ease to ensure that the visit is as stress free as possible for the child and the parents.

Childhood Skin Conditions
Skin cancer is rare in children but skin biopsies and the treatment of skin cancer are performed. We have close links with the Specialist Cancer Centres in Miami for joint care when needed.
In Cayman, with our outdoor lifestyle many children develop warts and molluscum lesions which can be treated with topical therapies or cryotherapy as an in office procedure.
Occasionally, some children have chronic skin conditions which have not responded to standard therapies, such as cutaneous lupus, morphoea, hidradenitis suppurativa, severe eczema and psoriasis which require long term immunosuppressive treatments and we are able to manage the treatment of these children working closely with the paediatricians.
Children can develop skin conditions similar to adults but the the management of these conditions, often has to be child friendly and safe. The team here is positioned to offer such care.
Fungal Infections
Fungal infections and the skin and scalp are also common due to the humidity in Cayman and we are able to offer management which includes fungal culture and confirmation of the infection as well as a variety of treatment options.
